Production and Distribution Facility

CLIENT PROJECT:
PRODUCTION & DISTRIBUTION FACILITY

A consumer products hardware company was seeking to identify a new cost-effective production and distribution facility in the western U.S.

OPPORTUNITY

Due to increasing production costs, labor demand, and offshore supply chain risks a global consumer products manufacturer engaged GEI team members to identify a new production and distribution facility in the western U.S. The new facility was to focus on serving the western consumer markets, supply chains, and the ability to recruit a strong pool of qualified labor.

SOLUTION

GEI provided labor analytics, benchmarking studies, supply chain strategy and a Competitive Location Analysis and incentives. The clients goals were to reduce costs and manage growth by collocation and identify a productive labor force. A multi-state site search was conducted which resulted in a build-to-suit of a 1M plus square foot facility just outside of California.

✔︎ GEI team members provided a business case summary for board approval in addition to the other services.
