Food Products Supply Chain

CLIENT PROJECT:
FOOD PRODUCTS SUPPLY CHAIN

A food products company was seeking an import/export strategy and an analysis of a regional port's capability to support the strategy.

OPPORTUNITY

Our client required an analysis of a regional port as part of an import/export strategy for specialized food distribution to and from European, Caribbean, and South American markets as well as potential Asian markets. The client was seeking a comprehensive objective assessment of the port city’s fundamental strengths and weaknesses to support and grow the proposed operation.

SOLUTION

GEI provided a thorough investigation and analysis of the region's logistics infrastructure for all modes of transportation- highway, rail, water and air – as well as the port's distribution network potential. The impact of demographic trends, workforce supply demand, market economics, cost of doing business, potential customer base, competition business climate, and incentives were factored into the final recommendations and validation.

✔︎ GEI provided a documented study which supported the specific sites and port under review, which concluded that they would be the appropriate platform to launch the proposed strategy.

OUR ROLE

GEI provided a business case analysis which included an objective analysis of the port area's strengths and weaknesses in terms of supporting and growing the proposed operation.
